The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has released the official notification for the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) (General/Special Recruitment) Examination 2026. Around 500 vacancies have been announced for various Group A and Group B Gazetted posts, including Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Block Development Officer (BDO), Naib Tehsildar, District Commandant Home Guard, Sub Registrar, District Probation Officer, District Food Marketing Officer, and several other administrative positions.
Candidates who possess a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university are eligible to apply for the recruitment. The online application process will begin on 25 June 2026 and continue until 27 July 2026 through the official UPPSC website. Interested candidates are advised to complete the One Time Registration (OTR) before filling out the online application form.
The selection process consists of three stages: Preliminary Examination, Mains Examination, and Personal Interview. The UPPSC PCS Preliminary Examination 2026 is scheduled to be held on 06 December 2026. Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination will be shortlisted for the Mains Examination, followed by the Interview round.
The Preliminary Examination includes General Studies Paper-I and CSAT Paper-II, while the Mains Examination consists of descriptive papers including General Hindi, Essay, and General Studies Papers I to VI. The optional subject has been removed from the Mains examination, and GS Paper-V and GS Paper-VI now focus on Uttar Pradesh-specific topics such as history, geography, economy, governance, and current affairs.
Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Level-10 (7th Pay Commission) with an initial Basic Pay of ₹56,100 per month, along with Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA), Medical Facilities, Pension Benefits, and other admissible government allowances. The approximate in-hand salary ranges between ₹70,000 and ₹80,000 per month, depending on the place of posting and applicable allowances.
