Short Information : The Indian Army invited online applications from eligible unmarried engineering graduates for the 66th Short Service Commission (Technical) Men and 37th Short Service Commission (Technical) Women courses commencing in April 2026. Selection was based on academic shortlisting, SSB Interview, medical examination and final merit.

For Widows of Defence Personnel (Non-Tech/Non-UPSC Entry): A Graduate degree in any discipline is required. For Widows of Defence Personnel (Tech Entry): A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering in the relevant field is required.

Training Location Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
Training Duration 49 weeks (approximately 11 months).
Type of Training Rigorous military training to develop leadership, discipline, and technical expertise.
Commission Awarded After successful completion, candidates are granted Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Indian Army.
Stipend A stipend of ₹56,100/- per month during the training period.
Liability of Cost If candidates withdraw from training voluntarily or are discharged due to misconduct, they must bear the cost of training.

Matriculation Certificate For proof of date of birth (10th Marksheet/Certificate).
Engineering Degree Certificate If completed, submit a degree certificate from a recognized university.
Marksheet of All Semesters Upload semester-wise or consolidated marksheets of the engineering degree.
Final Year Certificate (If Applicable) For candidates in the final year of engineering, a certificate from the institute confirming eligibility.
Aadhar Card As valid identity proof.
Category Certificate (If Applicable) For SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates, upload a valid caste certificate.
